Alicante, 27 December 2025.- Alicante’s San Silvestre charity race once again recorded record participation figures on the evening of Friday 26 December, with more than 5,000 runners taking to the streets of the city centre in an edition marked by sport, a festive atmosphere and fancy dress. The event thus confirms its consolidation within Alicante’s Christmas sporting calendar.
Participants completed a 4.5-kilometre course that brought together amateur runners, athletes and numerous groups in costume, both individuals and teams. The race started on the Rambla de Méndez Núñez, near the Casa de la Festa Manuel Ricarte, with the Xaloc Power Chair team in attendance, the recipient of the race’s charity proceeds and a leading figure in motorised wheelchair football.
The route ran through central streets such as San Vicente, Juan de Herrera, Calderón, Avenida de Alfonso X El Sabio, Plaza de los Luceros, Federico Soto, Doctor Gadea and Hermanos López Torregrosa, finishing once again on the Rambla. Along the route, thousands of people followed the race and cheered on the participants, creating a remarkable sporting and social atmosphere.
In the competitive section, Borja Martínez won the men’s category, followed by Joaquín Borrell and Olmo Velayos. In the women’s category, the podium was made up of Michelle Keny, Marta Fernández and Andrea Fejeiro. The organisers also recognised the best

In the women’s category, the podium was made up of Michelle Keny, Marta Fernández and Andrea Fejeiro. The organisers also recognised the best costumes in the race, with prizes for Alien, Elves and Chicken Noel, as well as for Bells, Clown Avengers and Reindeer.
The San Silvestre once again stood out for its participatory and family-friendly nature, with a large turnout of children and runners of all ages, reinforcing its role as one of the most popular Christmas sporting events in Alicante.
The Christmas sports programme will continue on 4 January with the Navi Fitness event, which will take place from 10 am on the Explanada de España, next to the Concha auditorium.
